2025
The Bracco Foundation is supporting Donne in Movimento, a new fundraising gala being promoted by the Italian Foundation for Research in Rheumatology (FIRA). The event combines culture, science and social responsibility, and shines a spotlight on the oft-overlooked issue of rheumatological diseases that predominantly affect women.
The FIRA Research Centre, a national hub of excellence endowed with state-of-the-art technologies that are used for advanced research work in fields such as genomics, is actively engaged in translational research. In addition to conducting laboratory research, FIRA encourages learning and knowledge sharing, and offers concrete opportunities in the form of scholarships and prizes.
Donne in Movimento will take place on 20 May 2025 at the “Leonardo da Vinci” National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. The proceeds of the evening will be used to fund the first “Carla Fracci” research scholarship, named in honour of the great Italian ballerina. The scholarship will support pioneering projects for the treatment of rheumatological diseases that affect women in particular, such as osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and connectivitis, all of which often have a profoundly deleterious impact on the quality of life.
The support of the Bracco Foundation in this area is a natural corollary of the system of values that are its raison d’être. The Foundation is a long-time promoter of gender equity in the field of medicine, a supporter preventive care for women, sponsor of young talents entering the STEM disciplines, and an investor in branches of research liable to make a positive and lasting impact on the world.
