Associazione Cielo Itinerante is an association that believes in free access to science, including for people living in difficult social circumstances, in which it is joined and supported by Fondazione Bracco.
Fondazione Bracco, long dedicated to combating educational poverty and promoting science as a vocation, especially for girls and young women, is joining forces with Associazione Cielo Itinerante , specifically on two projects called Operazione Cielo and Italia Brilla – Costellazione 2023, the aim of which is to ensure access by all to STEM subjects and the fair representation and equal footing of women in the scientific professions.
Fondazione Bracco is supporting initiatives in two socially disadvantaged peripheries of Milan:
- the multi-ethnic municipality of Baranzate, where the San Giovanni Bosco Oratory in the Parish of Nostra Signora della Misericordia is hosting a sky observation workshop on 24 May;
- the Giambellino district, where the “Anemoni” Middle-High School is hosting a four-week summer camp from Monday 12 June to Friday 7 July for children between 10 and 14 years. The activities include a guided tour of discovery of the STEM subjects, which will include lessons and real experiments in astronomy that the children will carry out themselves.
