Fondazione Bracco is supporting the 33rd edition of the Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition, instituted in 1959 to commemorate the Italian composer Ettore Pozzoli in his hometown of Seregno (Monza-Brianza).The international competition runs from 28 September to 5 October 2021 and is open to entries from musicians from all over the world.
The final stage consists of live auditions that, to underscore both the musical-historical significance of the town itself and the importance of local ownership of cultural events of this kind, are to be held in Seregno.
For the sake of compliance with health and safety rules, the preselection stage takes place online. A maximum of 30 candidates are then chosen to proceed to the next stage, which consists of in-person auditions.
The members of the competition jury are: Davide Cabassi (Italy), Alexander Kobrin (United States/Russia), HieYon Choi (South Korea), Roberto Cominati (Italy), Boris Slutsky (United States), Zhe Tang (China) and Rolf Plagge ( Germany).
The final stage of the competition will be performed with the orchestral accompaniment of Orchestra Sinfonica LaVerdi di Milano.
Fondazione Bracco, long a sponsor of musical culture and young talents, will offer the winner the opportunity to stage a concert recital. A special prize is also reserved for the best-placed female contestant.
