- Fondazione Bracco support for the players of Le Dimore del Quartetto
2019 - 2020
Since 2019, Fondazione Bracco has been supporting string quartets made up of young players participating in “Le Dimore del Quartetto,” an initiative that, following the principle of the circular economy, benefits both ensembles of musicians and historic homes by bringing them together for performances.
The brainchild of Francesca Moncada, Le Dimore del Quartetto started out in 2015 simply as a proposal for an exchange of favours. The idea is that ahead of a performance in a given place, musicians stay as guests in a historical home free of charge for up to one week, in return for which they give a performance for their hosts. In this circular economy, historic homes become a valuable resource for musical quartets who repay in kind with performances that also serve as occasions for people to meet outside the usual circuit of venues. Often taking place away from urban centres and major towns, these events breathe new life into places whose full potential is rarely used to full advantage, and bring chamber music recitals to a new public.
As part of its commitment to nurturing talent through education, Fondazione Bracco supports the work of Le Dimore del Quartetto with particular regard to young musicians.
