Competition for social startups “Welfare, che impresa!” 2020 – Fourth edition

“Welfare, che impresa!”, now in its fourth edition, is a project that recognizes and rewards local authority-backed community welfare projects that are the most successful at promoting local development.Eligible to take part are legal entities incorporated up to five years ago or yet to be incorporated (as long as they are incorporated within six months of the date of the announcement of the winners of this year’s prize).

The competition opens at 11.59 am on 3 February 2020 and closes at 11.59 am on 20 April 2020.

The sectors eligible for consideration are: Social agriculture; Making beneficial use of cultural heritage and the natural landscape; Restoring unused public goods or goods confiscated from organized crime for the common good to local communities; Solutions and services for social generativity, care, welfare assistance, health, culture and community educational needs, also with a view to the inclusion of vulnerable people; Solutions and actions to protect and enhance the environment and climate, to limit material and energy usage, and to minimize production and consumption waste and losses.

First prize is a grant of €40,000 | The second, third and fourth prizes are grants of €20,000. All winning entities will also be able to access ten personalized mentoring sessions provided by one of the incubators, a zero-interest loan of up to €50,000(*) from UBI Comunità, and a fee-free current account for 36 months. Two more special prizes are available: one offering a chance to start a crowd funding campaign on the “ideatre60” platform of Fondazione Italiana Accenture, and the other offering facilitated access to Impacton’s scaling programe.
