Women in STEM: A capital investment

Fondazione Mai is promoting a "Women in STEM” event at the headquarters of Assolombarda (Via Pantano 9, Milan). The event takes place on Wednesday 7 February 2024 from 11 a.m.
“Women in STEM,” a project now in its second edition, offers support to schoolgirls and young women seeking a career in the worlds of innovation and technology.

Starting at 11 a.m. on 7 February, an award ceremony will take place in the Assolombardo HQ for the recognition of the eight best female students in their first year of a master's-level STEM degree for the academic year 2022-2023. The recipients are the winners of eight scholarships promoted by the Giuseppina Mai Foundation of Confindustria in collaboration with Assolombarda-STEAMiamoci, the Bracco Foundation and Space Work S.r.l.

The ceremony provides an opportunity for businesses, the academic world and the students themselves to consider the importance of women in STEM subjects and to discuss ways of extirpating the chauvinist attitude that sees women as less suited to technical and scientific fields (where, on the contrary, their skills are increasingly in demand).
