Live streaming event: “The revealed secrets of the Augustinian polyptych by Piero della Francesca”

On Tuesday 23 April starting at 6.30pm, the Bracco Foundation’s YouTube channel will stream the meeting "Piero della Francesca's Augustinian polyptych and the secrets revealed by scientific analysis".The event is being held in collaboration with the Poldi Pezzoli Museum of Milan, on the occasion of the exhibition titled "Piero della Francesca. The Augustinian polyptych reunited", of which the Bracco Foundation is the Main Partner (Museo Poldi Pezzoli, Milan, 20 March - 24 June 2024).

The Bracco Foundation, in keeping with its longstanding commitment to enhancing the relationship between science and art, took the lead in conducting a comprehensive series of non-invasive diagnostic analyses. Now an integral part of the exhibition itinerary, the analyses have enabled a close study to be made of the artist’s techniques and materials, as well as of the history of the composition, dismemberment and reconstruction of the polyptych.

During this hour of immersion in the non-visible parts of the great work of art, the following experts will speak:

Isabella Castiglioni, University of Milan Bicocca
Marco Gargano,
Università degli Studi di Milano
Anna Piccirillo, “La Venaria Reale” (a centre of art conservation and restoration)
Christian Salvatore, DeepTrace Technologies

The talk is moderated by Marco Carminati, journalist and art historian.
