Gruppo 2003 Young Researchers Prize
Gruppo 2003, a research institute supported by the Bracco Foundation presents the second, 2020, edition of the “Young Researchers Prize,” which aims to promote research activity and draw the attention of the institutions and the general public to young scientists, who are a precious resource for the future of our country.The time we are currently living through has sharpened our appreciation of the crucial importance of scientific research, and the difference it makes in our lives. For this reason the 2003 Group has decided to launch this new edition of the Prize, which, in addition to recognising quality scientific research carried out by young people working in Italy, includes a special prize for the best research on the Covid-19 pandemic.
The prizes are divided into the following ten categories:
- Agriculture
- Food and nutrition;
- Environment;
- Astrophysics and space;
- Biomedicine and drugs;
- COVID-19;
- Oncology;
- Engineering;
- Artificial intelligence and big data;
- Physics, mathematics and computer science.
Young scientists working in Italian research institutions are eligible to enter their projects for consideration.
Applications must be received by 20 June. The ten winners - one per category - will be selected by early October and rewarded with a diploma and €3,000 each at a prize-giving ceremony at the headquarters of the National Research Council in Rome no earlier than November 2020, epidemiological situation of the country permitting.
The Prize is supported by Bracco Foundation which channels its funding to women scientists, as well as by it the National Research Council (CNR), the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF), AIRC Foundation for Cancer Research, Chiesi Farmaceutici, Barilla, and the National Federation of Managers and High-Level Professionals of Agriculture and the Environment (FENDA).
