Press conference on the “Inside Caravaggio” exhibition at Palazzo Reale
Thursday 28th September 2017 at Palazzo Reale in Milan, a press conference was held to present the "Inside Caravaggio" exhibition, which Bracco Group partners. The exhibition opened to the public on 29th September 2017 and will run until 28th January 2018.
The exhibition, curated by Rossella Vodret, is a unique exhibit that brings together 20 works by the master painter for the first time, and is promoted and produced by the Comune di Milano - Culture, Palazzo Reale Milan and MondoMostre Skira, in collaboration with MiBACT [Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities].
For its 90th anniversary, the Bracco Group has contributed to the organisation of this cultural event by conducting diagnostic analyses on the works, which reveal the artist’s creative process for the first time, providing the relevant X-ray next to each of the works along the tour route, which, thanks to a technical set-up, allows the public to understand the different stages of the inception and development of the work.
At the press conference, speakers included the Minister for Culture Filippo Del Corno, the Chairman of MondoMostreSkira Massimo Vitta Zelman, the curator of the exhibition Rossella Vodret and the president of the Bracco Group Diana Bracco, who stated "We are proud to support, in the year that we are celebrating Bracco’s ninetieth anniversary, this project which has huge cultural and scientific significance. An extraordinary exhibition that reveals a number of aspects of Caravaggio's artistic career that have never been seen before, in an emotional and original manner. Another reason why this exhibition is unique is because it presents works to the public from major Italian museums and important foreign museums. The result of this genuine journey through art and science is a never-before-seen tale of the creative genius and rebel that was Caravaggio, an adventure of discovery of all that is concealed beneath the surface of the paint."
