The exhibition “Ritratte. Donne di arte e di scienza”[Portraits of Women of Art and Science] opens at the Bilotti Museum in Rome
“Ritratte. Donne di arte e di scienza [Portraits of Women of Art and Science] is the title of the exhibition taking place on 13 July - 10 September 2023 at Museo Carlo Bilotti in Rome (free admission). The exhibition consists of 40 works by the photographer Gerald Bruneau of an all-female cast of scientists and museum directors.
Conceived and curated by Fondazione Bracco in collaboration with Arthemisia, and promoted by the “Roma Capitale” Department of Culture and Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali [the Office for the Preservation and Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Rome], the exhibition celebrates women whose abilities earned them top positions in the worlds of culture and STEM. The photographic display has women directors of important Italian museums seeming to be in conversation with women scientists who, being leading lights in their field, are also to be found in “100esperte.it” (100esperte.it), and online databank of women experts in strategic sectors. The 100esperte.it project, joint brainchild of Osservatorio di Pavia and Gi.U.Li.A., was developed by Fondazione Bracco Foundation with support from the European Commission's Representation in Italy.
Through its support for this exhibition, Fondazione Bracco is reaffirming its belief in the nurturing of talent and in the provision of equal access to learning and knowledge so that young women may freely enter and prosper in professional careers.
