As part of the project Prevention a friend of immigrant women, the Bracco Foundation in collaboration with Bracco Farma handed out 600 free Iotiren samples, an iodine supplement, at the Outpatient Clinic of the Opera di San Francesco.

The supplements were distributed to foreign pregnant women or those trying for a baby, to aid an adequate intake of iodine in such a delicate stage of life.

It has now been scientifically proven that iodine deficiency, as well as that of other micronutrients, can significantly affect a baby's development. As part of the series of Bracco Foundation meetings, the appointment "Iodine, nutrition and pregnancy: a project for life" on 6th October 2014 made it possible to deepen this issue with two experts, here is an in-depth video.
