The solemn opening ceremony of the 43rd Paulista Day of Radiology (JPR), which was held in Sao Paulo in the first week of May 2013, was enriched by a concert promoted by the Bracco Foundation: Ludimilla Bauerfeldt and Jaeyoon Jung, young soprano and tenor of the Course for Opera Singers Development at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, performed in a celebrated and engaging all-Italian opera repertoire, accompanied by the Orquestra Sinfônica de Heliópolis conducted by Maestro Edilson Ventureli.

The orchestra of the Baccarelli Institute is made up of young students from the favelas on the outskirts of Sao Paulo, areas characterised by neglect, widespread petty crime and lack of the most basic infrastructure: it is here in this situation that the orchestra De Heliópolis encourages the possibility of social redemption through knowledge and the practice of music.

JPR, the annual conference organised by the Radiological and Diagnostic Imaging Society of São Paulo (SPR) is considered the most important event on the subject in Latin America. The concert was greatly appreciated by the audience, made up of institutions, radiologists and professionals in the field.
